WELCOME
TO OUR VILLAGE
Pregnancy - Breastfeeding - Parenting - Play
The Nest Family Resource is a comprehensive, community-based, non-profit organization that supports families and professionals in an accessible, inclusive, and compassionate environment. We offer evidence-based classes, weekly support groups, and a directory of trusted professionals to empower growing families from fertility through parenthood.

We hope our members feel supported from the very beginning of their parenting journey, starting with pregnancy. Our family of experts has found the best way is to bring the community together and create a "village" of resources. At the Nest, we combine our knowledge, experience, and passion to educate everyone.

Our village members receive a full nest worth of resources to guide you from pregnancy to postpartum and into toddlerhood.

Hatchlings Playgroup
Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 AM
open to the public
For families with little ones 3 years and under looking to connect and socialize. Our in-person weekly groups are a great opportunity to build community, practice gentle play, and leave the house. We encourage Nest Village Members and drop-ins from the community alike!
Let us help facilitate play, sensory development, and learning. Hatchling's doesn't follow a particular method of play or learning, but we do encourage age-appropriate play expectations. Toddlers, especially, can be messy, have difficulty sharing, and communication is tricky. We encourage everyone who joins us to be open to the learning opportunities the playgroup provides by guiding their littles through the tough moments.
Nest Parent Cassie Clements and two of her kids (aged 2 years and 4 months) facilitate the playgroups. Cassie has worked with children since she was a teenager and is well-versed in everything Nest! Feel free to ask her questions about upcoming classes and workshops.
Come play at:
Sierra Nevada Children's Services (SNCS)
420 Sierra College Drive, Grass Valley
Drop in for facilitated sensory & open play! Two rooms filled with toys, play areas, tables, books, puppets, dress-up, play kitchen, climbing structures, baby toys, and more!
A designated baby (under 1 year) area will be carpeted. Hands washing is available in the playroom.
For toddler music and movement classes visit our Wellness page!
Our virtual groups offer bite-sized parenting support from birth through big kids (7 years old) - this is the heart of our Nest. A safe space to share and process the transformation called parenthood.

Our groups are designed to help you sift through parenting decisions and learn about various parenting approaches. Most of all, we are here to listen to your stories and connect you with other parents. For the most part, we're considering responsive, respectful, and conscious parenting approaches together. That said, we also always acknowledge the self-compassion and grace required to parent with greater intention. We welcome your unique experience.
Once you subscribe, you'll have access to the Zoom links for ALL groups and the WhatsApp private chat group link to join the conversations and in-person opportunities for those interested. You're always welcome to join audio only from anywhere. Babies and children are welcome to be with you; however, these are not conversations centered for children to necessarily participate (although we all love baby smiles and toddler shares). This is time to set aside for you to be supported by other parents.
