Hatchlings Play Groups
For families with little ones 3 years and under looking to connect and socialize. Our in-person weekly groups are a great opportunity to build community, practice gentle play, and leave the house. We encourage Nest Village Members and drop-ins from the community alike!
Let us help facilitate play, sensory development, and learning. Hatchling's doesn't follow a particular method of play or learning, but we do encourage age-appropriate play expectations. Toddlers, especially, can be messy, have difficulty sharing, and communication is tricky. We encourage everyone who joins us to be open to the learning opportunities the playgroup provides by guiding their littles through the tough moments.
Nest Parent Cassie Clements and her son (aged 1 year) facilitate the playgroups. Cassie has worked with children since she was a teenager and is well-versed in everything Nest! Feel free to ask her questions about upcoming classes and workshops.

Drop in for facilitated sensory & open play! Two rooms filled with toys, play areas, tables, books, puppets, dress-up, play kitchen, climbing structures, baby toys, and more!
A designated baby (under 1 year) area will be carpeted.
Hands washing is available in the playroom.
Upon entering the SNCS lobby, look for our sign pointing to the right. Take the hallway until you find us! Don't worry! There is plenty of parking.

These groups are OPEN PLAY with rotating toys. We wash toys after every session. We ask that everyone have consideration and stay home if you're sick. Keep in mind that we welcome newborns and pregnant folks - thank you!

Music For Littles
with Tawnee Kendall
Music for Littles is a great way to learn and play! Classes allow children to sing, release energy, and get up-close and personal with different kinds of instruments. Classes use shakers, drums, scarves and other musical toys to experiment with sounds and rhythms. Music is a mix of original songs and well known children’s songs all taught by mom-of-two and long-time musician, Tawnee Kendall.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CLASSES?

Classes are ~45 minutes long.

$15 for the first child. Add a sibling for $10.

All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult who can help guide them through songs.

A collection of original songs are accessible via YouTube playlist.

No music or dance skills necessary to join!

Class attendance is capped at 12 little ones.

Get Your Littles Moving With Lauren
Creative Ballet

Hop, leap, and skip in this imaginative dance class! We will learn dance and ballet basics in a fun and nurturing setting. We also play many creative dance games to invite storytelling through movement, all set to beautiful classical music.

Lauren is a dance and movement instructor on a mission to create nurturing, magical, inspiring, and accessible classes for children and grownups!
With over 20 years of experience teaching ballet and dance to young children, Lauren loves to foster imagination and playfully teach skills.
A Pilates and Barre Certified teacher in addition to Postnatal Specialist training, she loves to create graceful, empowering, and supportive classes for Moms and those with birthing bodies to get some self-care in the form of movement!
Lauren lives in Grass Valley, CA, where you can often find her (aside from happily dancing around her living room) playing under the pines with her three sons, Dylan, Hayden, and Ollie, darling husband Luke, and their sweet dog Dash.
